In recent years, InnoGrid2020+ has proved to be the European event on innovation in electricity networks. The widely recognised annual conference is jointly organised by the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity (ENTSO-E) and the European Distribution System Operators for Smart Grids (EDSO). This year’s InnoGrid2020+, the seventh edition of the event, will be held at BOZAR, Centre for Fine Arts, in Brussels, Belgium, from 15 to 16 May. “Get ready for the twenties ‒ A vision for Europe’s power grid and beyond“ is the most promising title.
The central theme of 2018 addresses the high expectations of customers, market participants and policy makers regarding what the electricity system and network should deliver as services beyond 2020. The circle of speakers consists of high-ranking policy makers, researchers and project developers but also of grid users and citizens. Ben Voorhorst, President of ENTSO-E and Chief Operating Officer of TSCNET shareholder TenneT, the Dutch-German transmission system operator (TSO), will co-host the inaugural session.
InnoGrid2020+ 2018 provides insights and solutions for the challenges of the next decade. In addition to the multifarious presentations there will also be profound project related breakout sessions on concrete issues of power networks and their essential role for the energy future. The relevant key terms here include system and cyber security, flexibility, active system management, sector coupling, and e-mobility.
