The fundamental shift of Europe’s energy landscape confronts the continent’s transmission system operators (TSOs) with many new challenges. Since we are heading more and more towards a connected pan-European power market, cross-border cooperation of TSOs is the solution of choice for the European TSOs. This also means, that the role of the European Regional Security Coordinators (RSCs) has become overly important.
TSCNET Services, the Munich-based RSC, is the host of a ElSeC 2017, the Conference on Electricity Security Coordination taking place on 17 October 2017 in Munich, Germany. ElSeC 2017, as the first of a series of annual conferences to foster regional coordination in Europe, combines keynote speeches, case studies and discussions on the current state of regional security coordination with visions of the energy future.
Now the complete preliminary programme for ElSeC 2017 is available online. There are four main sections presenting a “Regional Approach for Europe’s Power Grid”, “Demonstrations of Regional Solutiones for Grid Security”, “Perspectives on the Institutional Framework” and, as panel discussion, “The Organisation of the European Power Grid in 2030”. The welcoming speech will be given by Maik Neubauer, one of the new Managing Directors of TSCNET Services.
We would like to point out that invited participants still have the possibility to register by 13 October at the latest. For registered participants, the ElSeC 2017 app is also available.
